Geolocation of Materials
Organic cotton is geolocated through the search of rare earth and stable isotope content.
Identification of microfibre release following washing processes.
Pollution from microfibres and microplastics is a subject of global importance, involving production processes, users, water purification processes for both civil and industrial waste water, and waste management.
The involvement of the textile industry in these processes is fundamentally important.
The TIL laboratory is able to check the release of microfibres from textiles, due to care cycles (machine washing).
The identification of microfibre quantities following washing is performed using international standard procedures (AATCC, ISO and ASTM).
The laboratory also performs accredited tests, in compliance with Microfiber Consortium procedures.
