PFAS: The future of regulation and opportunity for your company

In 2025, the European Commission is committed to providing important clarifications on PFAS, chemicals under global observation. Already in some areas, such as California and other states in the United States, significant restrictions have been put in place, a path that other countries, including those in the European Community, will soon follow.

PFAS are now prevalent everywhere, from everyday applications to their presence as environmental contaminants. For companies, it is crucial to be aware of their presence in their products and related industrial processes: only then can effective strategies be adopted to identify substitutes or alternative solutions.

Why choose the TIL Laboratory?

Our process is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, guaranteeing the highest quality and reliability of results.

For years, the TIL Laboratory has been dedicated to the study and analysis of PFAS and was among the first laboratories in Europe to equip itself with the most advanced technologies to offer precise and reliable answers to companies engaged in the investigation of these substances. For the determination of Total Fluorine (TF), our laboratory is equipped with CIC “Combustion Ion Chromatography” technology, a method developed in-house in compliance with the main reference standards (EN 17813 and ASTM D-7659).

In addition, we also perform the quantification of Soluble Inorganic Fluorine (IF), allowing us to calculate, by difference, the Total Organic Fluorine (TOF) value. This parameter is already used in several U.S. states, including California under AB 1817, as a parameter for PFAS use restriction.

New 2025: Faster and more cost-effective analysis, a real opportunity for companies wishing to address PFAS effectively and economically.

Since January 1st, we have further automated our analysis method, improving its reproducibility and speed of execution. This allows us to offer a faster service and, most importantly, to offer particularly advantageous economic conditions for ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing.

Awareness is the first step toward change

Becoming aware of the presence of PFAS in products and processes is key to meeting regulatory and market challenges. The TIL Laboratory is by your side to support you with accurate, timely and affordable analysis to help you navigate an increasingly regulated future.
